Twitter erupts as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma punish LSG to register record win for SRH | IPL 2024



In an electrifying display of power hitting, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered the quickest run-chase in IPL history, overpowering Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with a commanding 10-wicket victory in Match 57 of IPL 2024. This historic match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium witnessed a spectacular batting showcase that left fans and critics alike in awe.

Lucknow Super Giants Batting Performance:

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, LSG posted a respectable total of 165/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni were the standout performers, scoring 48 and 55 runs respectively. Pooran’s innings included six fours and a six, while Badoni dazzled with nine boundaries. However, despite solid contributions, the total ultimately proved insufficient against the formidable SRH lineup.

SRH’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Bhuvneshwar Kumar who delivered an economical spell, taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Record-Breaking Chase:

In response, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma launched an all-out assault on the LSG bowlers. Head smashed 89 runs off just 30 balls, including eight fours and eight sixes, while Sharma contributed a rapid 75 off 28 balls, featuring eight fours and six sixes. Together, they raced to the target in just 9.4 overs without losing a single wicket, marking the fastest run-chase in the history of the IPL.

LSG’s bowlers struggled significantly under the onslaught. Krishnappa Gowtham, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen ul Haq all failed to make any impact, conceding runs at an alarming rate which facilitated SRH’s historic chase.
