SA vs SL Head-to-Head Records In ODI – ICC World Cup 2023, Match 4. The SA vs SL ICC World Cup 2023 match will be played in Delhi on October 7, Saturday. The match starts at 02:00 pm IST and is the first of the two games on a double-header Saturday. Overall, this is the fourth match of the campaign.

South Africa will be led by Temba Bavuma. He missed the warm-up games due to personal reasons as Aiden Markram led the side. They have been hit hard by the absence of Anrich Nortje who is ruled out with a stress fracture. They are also missing Sisanda Magala with a left knee injury, Andile Phelukwayo and Lizaad Williams have been named as replacements.

Cricket experts are hailing this squad as the best-ever South African squad since the 2015 squad that made the semi-finals. The players are in form having recently beaten Australia in an ODI series. Most of the players have a wealth of experience of playing in Indian conditions courtesy of their IPL experience.

Sri Lanka will be led by Dasun Shanaka. As a captain, he endured a forgetful Asia Cup final after his side was bundled out for just 50 by India. The management still kept the faith in Shanaka and retained him as the captain for the World Cup. Sri Lanka are missing Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera with injury concerns. They lost to Bangladesh and Afghanistan in their warm-up games.

Overall, the two teams have played 80 ODIs between themselves with South Africa winning 45 games and Sri Lanka 33. They last played an ODI against each other in 2021. South Africa are ahead in SA vs SL Test and T20I head-to-head counts.
